The Stratford skyscraper is a mixture of residential loft-style and single-storey apartments, a five-star hotel, and three sky gardens carved dramatically out of the building’s profile.
Buzon UK were engaged for the installation of two external terraced areas outside the seventh-floor restaurant Allegra. The largest area of 165 m2 required a combination of DPH Pedestals and 600×600 mm porcelain tiles. Angled cuts required for areas next to the glass walls and doors of the restaurant were built on the Buzon ALUrail system supported by PB Pedestals which was also used for the smaller 40 m2 area.
Unsightly waterproof membrane was hidden from view by installing a tiled upstand along the perimeter of the terrace. The tiles were cut to size using waterjet, bonded, and subsequently installed as units.
